Sorry, email typo.

I'm using the correct syntax and provided the value mail_list_temp is 
not set to 0 or blank then it works just fine.

As a work around I have added:

   mail_list = [value mail_list_temp]

to the mv_click block to do the same job, but I'd still like to know why 
the profile doesn't work.

BTW, an even simpler way to show the problem is just:

&set=value
