You don't have to create the ebuilds yourself.  I think all the ones
you need are either available on Portage or posted in the bugs links
above.  I'll know for sure soon.

I'd rather use a real package manager like Portage than use perl
commands to download modules from CPAN.  With Portage you can easily
install and uninstall modules/packages as well as easily update them.

I don't think Interchange::Link is in CPAN, but it's included in the
IC distribution.
