I just want to be clear on the use of regular <a href=""> links vs. the 
page or area tags.

It seems to me that if I use regular links, I risk losing session info, 
unless a cookie is set. Aside from this, are there any other problems I 
should be aware of?

I am trying to give my customer an easy way to insert links to product 
pages, using a Textile filter. Links can be made like so: "link 
text":SKU --> <a href="SKU">link text</a>. This is much faster than 
typing [page SKU]link text[/page]. This also is nice because I don't 
have to see any ".html" in my links. :-)
