If you are talking about the item list..... in the Admin UI just 
click to the right of that little duck (item editor) and change the 
listed fields "show on the select page" to what you need - just 
converted a 4.8 catalog to 5.4 and there should be a few notes about 
this in the January or February archive..... but I used Mysql on 4.8 
as well as 5.4. It shouldn't be to difficult to upload the text files 
to the mysql database....
