Does that mean I need to have the user in the access table and not in 
the userdb table?

At the moment I've got a bit of a mixed model. I'm using userdb but want 
  access functionality. This is because most of the "use" is best 
matched by userdb with the exception of [table-editor] and [flex-select] 
interfacing.
