Price adjustment based on weight

I am trying to do something that seems very simple; I must be missing
something.  I have products that have specific weights and people order
various quantities of them.  What I want is the price to be based on the
weight rather than the quantity.  For example, if I have an item that is
$8.99/pound and each item is 1.25 pounds, the price for 4 should be
$44.95 (8.99*1.25*4) rather than 35.96 (8.99*4).  I considered using
UseModifier but I don't think I want to.  What's the easy way to do
this?
