quote/double quote searchspec problem

If I enter a search string with 1,3,5,...etc quote or double quote I get
the following error:
FATAL error
Unmatched quote at /usr/sites/bgstore.com/mvend/lib/Vend/Search.pm line 206
Search type is 'text'
no search field specified (search entire record)
flat ascii database files
MV 3.12 beta 6
Any suggestion ?
