I'm not sure as to what exactly you mean by getting rid of the
database..
I deleted products from mysql. Removed references to it from
catalog.cfg.
but it looks to me like you need to first make sure you create the mysql
database "music" and decide whether or not you want minivend to
populate it
I did create it, and don't want minivend to populate it. NoImport
music is on. But I had it to just music and someone suggested
music.asc but neither help me.
The data that I entered into music is still there, minivend didn't
overwrite it. What I want to know is, why if my database directive is
right is this catalog running the sample demo just as it is out of the
box?

for you by means of the music.asc file.. and if not.. then change to
line in
your catalog.cfg file to read "NoImport music" NOT music.asc. so that
minivend doesn't overwrite your sql database ...
