Re: Gartner Group: The Cost Of Ecommerce

****** message to minivend-users from "reuben" <reuben@anet-chi.com> ******

Well, from my experience, I would have to give the
Gartner Report some credence. The kind of ecommerce
sites they are referring to includes the back-end
integration, which is extremely expensive to build. MV is
great for building the ecommerce front-end, but is rather
lacking in integration abilities to back-end transaction
systems. Also, the report implies (since the report
includes media firms as part of the development process)
that promoting and advertising the site is also included as
part of the cost.

Having said that, I do think that MV is a great product,
supported by a very responsible group of people (ie you).
I have used it on several sites. and no, i don't claim to
make the kind of money that the report is referring to. i'm
just happy to pay my rent and feed myself. heh.
