That will certainly restart your server if it is down, however, that
doesn't explain why your server crashes. One thing, if it can't find a PID
file, that doesn't mean that the server is not running -- it means that
minivend can't record it's PID to a file when started.
Is it possible that your box is getting rebooted and minivend is not
restarting? You should add a start script to your rc.d or rc.local file!
