Try the [area] tag. It 'produces the URL to call a MiniVend page, without the
surrounding A HREF notation.' You can construct your own <a href> markup that
way, complete with JavaScript. And you won't have to compromise the session
information.
I found it in the docs (Minivend Tag Reference)...
