I'm quite fond of mounting NFS and then using cp -afpdR
/pathto/minivend /mountednfs/pathto/minivend
Permission-wise, though, minivend isn't that demanding. Just make
sure the minivend user owns everything and the tlink/vlink file in your
cgi-bin is chmod u+s. You could just ftp everything over and do a little
clean-up as root.
