Re: [mv] Moving a minivend catalog
Eric,
I've gone through this, the best way is to install the same version
of Minivend on the new server and test out the demo that comes
with it to be sure everything is running OK.
Then run makecat to install the catalog you want to use, then
only upload the html pages (including checkout etc if you've
made new ones) as well as graphics and "normal" webspace
files and of course the files in the products dir (products.asc
etc.) Don't upload any config or session files or any other
minivend files located in the minivend directory unless you
have a good reason to, and at that you will have to check them
carefully for any new paths!
Unless the server is nearly identical to your test server, you
will run into many problems by simply trying to upload everything!
I know, I tried it then I removed all files and then tried the way
I explained above and everything went much smoother!
Good Luck,
Kyle Cook (KC)
