Well to be precise, the MV **documentation** falls into the common
usage and does not distinguish that well.  MV itself very much does 
distinguish.  If you are using mySQL and have permissions set 
appropriately, you can cross **databases** too:

SELECT my_other_db.foo,bar FROM my_other_db.products,products etc...

I'm pretty sure as well that as long as you have the default
products you don't even need to define the other tables.  YMMV; that
might be one of our local "features".
