Did you see any message in the minivend error.log?
Did you get the normal output, if you restart the minivend server. E.g.
like this

In any case, (e.g. in debug mode and FreeBSD) one minivend server is
still running and out of service and after start or restart, you get two
or more minivend server suddenly. Did you find the minivend user via
top?
