There were no errors in the error log. I was thinking of setting the
WRITE_ALWAYS flag for userdb.asc.

Where I'm confused is that the data seems to be saved in userdb.gdbm and not
userdb.asc, and want to get the data out of userdb.gdbm to userdb.asc.
