Re: [mv] Learn Perl to Install Minimate

Andrew...,

Call to one of your friends who are using Turbo Pascal/Turbo C
or any other Windows based compiler (even delphi), the MAKE
file is coming with such softwares... and most of times it sits on the
bin directory of that compiler.....

Subject: [mv] Learn Perl to Install Minimate

I posted the message below yesterday and received this reply.

"You need some kind of a "make" program. Active Perl should you provide
one." From Stefan Hornburg. Thank you.

It appears that my limited understanding of perl has a bias towards CGI only and therefore i do not understand what to do with the "make" program. Any advice welcome. If any one can advise where to learn perl basics other than CGI I would be grateful.

Original Message:-
( Hi I am new to minimate and relatively new to perl so I understand that the following problem may be a simple oversight.

I am running windows 95 with MS PWS, MiniVend-3.14-4, MiniMate-3.14-0-3 and Active Perl 522.

When I run the MiniMate install I get the following:-

C:\MiniMate-3.14.0.3>perl install /mvend

 MiniMate V3.14.0.3

MiniMate is free under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Where is your MiniVend installed? [/mvend]
Writing Makefile for MiniMate
Bad command or file name
Bad command or file n
ame)

A MakeFile has been created in the MiniMate directory but goes no further.
Thanks Andy P
