[mv] Multiple Ship-to's

One feature many gift shops have been asking me for is Multiple Ship-To
Addresses in a single order, like the kind on http://www.redenvelope.com,
so they can assign items a,b,and c to go to address x, and items d,e, and f
to go to address y, all within one order. 

Has anyone done this?  I wasn't even sure where to begin, and thinking
about multiple shipping and tax routines made my head hurt.

I'm not even sure it's possible, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd
appreciate them!
