[mv] value weirdness in 3.14-5

I've got a search page that takes two searchspecs, and I can't find any
way to retrieve the values of those specs reliably in the target page.

The relevant bits of the search: [area scan mp=thumbs/se=8/se=4]

__NAME__ thumbs

mv_matchlimit=500
mv_search_page=thumbnails
mv_exact_match=yes
mv_search_field=Gallery
mv_search_field=Room
mv_coordinate=yes

__END__


On the results page, the following all return nothing:

[value-extended name=mv_searchspec index=0]
[value-extended name=mv_searchspec index=1]
[value-extended name=mv_searchspec joiner="foo" index=*]

[value name="mv_searchspec"] returns 8 when not inside another tag.

And now the weird bit.

[area href=scan arg="mp=gallery/se=[value name=mv_searchspec]"]

returns an HREF to "/scan/mp=gallery/se=8__NULL__4"

So the 4 is hiding in there somewhere, but it only reappears in certain
circumstances, and by the time it's appeared there, it's too late to make
any real use of it.

Any clues?
