Re: [mv] Really Dumb Newbie Question
****** message to minivend-users from Ed LaFrance <newmedia@sd.znet.com> ******
I usually don't use the splash page, but if you want to modify it, the
html file is located in yourrootdir/yourhtdocsdir/yourcatalogname/ and
is called index.html, and I believe the picture is in a subdirectory of
that directory called images/.
Beyond that, you need to hit the books. Minivend is a conglomerate of
CGI and HTML and freely blends HTML tags, minivend tags and Perl. Don't
expect to master it in a couple of weeks or even a couple of months.
Most of the HTML/Minivend pages you will need to work with will be
located at yourrootdir/catalogs/yourcatalogname/pages (this is assuming
that you installed a catalog based on the simple demo; if you accepted
the default name, then the directory yourcatalogname will be "simple").
Avoid using a WYSIWYG editor - in all likelihood it will chew up the
minivend tags and cause all kinds of problems. Open the HTML files with
a text editor, and always save a backup before you change anything.
Good Luck!
