[mv] Cannot get Minimate, .access, and .access_gate to work
****** message to minivend-users from "Kayo Liles" <kayo@mediafuze.com> ******
Hello.
I've searched the archive, but couldn't find the solution to my problem.
I followed the directions on http://www.linuxia.net/minimate/#security. The
access control with Apache works fine using the
<LocationMatch>...</LocationMatch>. When I follow the directions for .access
(empty) and .access_gate, however, I cannot access the databases (it tells
me "Sorry, we are still under construction!"). I can still access the
config/menu.html page, but when I try to access the databases, an error gets
logged into the error.log file. The log says:
120.192.128.42 NQcjjAmd:admin - [07/February/2000:07:42:21 -0700] simple
/cgi-bin/simple/process auth error host=120.192.128.42 ip=120.192.128.42
script=/cgi-bin/simple page=/process
Also I noticed that with or without the .access and .access_gate files, I
get the following log in the error.log file when I get authenticated by
Apache:
120.192.128.42 NQcjjAmd:admin admin[07/February/2000:06:39:36 -0700] simple
/cgi-bin/simple/config/menu.html The VendURL directive (now set to '')
should probably
> start with 'http:' or 'https:'
> In line 100 of the configuration file '':
> WritePermission group
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Also, it seems to me that I
don't really need .access and .access_gate if
<LocationMatch>...</LocationMatch> is working. Could someone tell me why I
need both?
Thanks!
Kayo

p.s. The contents of .access_gate is:
*: [perl arg="config" interpolate=1]
return 1 if $Safe{config}{RemoteUser} eq q{[data session user]};
return 0;
[/perl]
