I used to have the same problem. When I got "You need to validate your
credit card information. ", my error.log said:

- - - [04/February/2000:08:17:56 -0700] - - Could not open error file : No
such
file or directory

The problem with my case had nothing to do with an invalid credit card
number. The problem was with the SendMailProgram variable in my catalog.cfg.
Once I set the variable correctly, my problem went away. So your problem
could be something else other than the credit card information you are
typing.

Check your error.log in your minivend directory, and see what it says.
