I am using MV 3.12.  That version uses the standard HTML color syntax i.e.:
a hexidecimal RGB string such as "#000000" for black, "#ffffff" for white,
etc.  I imagine you could used named colors ("red" "yellow" "blue" etc)
just as in HTML but I have never tried it.

Some of these colors are assigned to variables in your catalog.cfg, and the
variables are then referenced in various places in the catalog HTML files.
Take a look at your catalog.cfg, near the top of the file, and you will see
some of these.
