Trevor,
I have read something interesting about hanging Minivend processes... it's in 
the Minivend mailing-list archives:

   HammerLock 60
   HouseKeeping 5
   MaxServers 6
   PIDcheck  300

 Also, whenever you upgrade - ALWAYS use the new catalog.cfg and minivend.cfg
 files, and transfer your old info to them. This way you keep current on the
 latest features.
