[mv] Adding extra information into transactions/orderline (4.0Alpha2)

Hello there, I hope someone can help me.

I am trying to pass additional fields, from the checkout, into
the transactions and orderline tables and am having difficulty
in working out how to achieve this.  I am using 4.0Alpha2 to test
things.  One of the fields of interest is the "additional
information" text which I will put in the transactions record.
Also, instead of size and colour, I have three sets of options.
I would like to be able to capture all three choices in the
orderline record.

I don't need a detailed description, just a shove in the right
direction should do the trick.
