[mv] Oracle UPPERCASE problem with MV 4

For MV4 on a Redhat Linux 6.2 box, when I specify the
    Database            products UPPERCASE    1
directive for a store (needed if the products table is
stored in an Oracle database), other stores no longer
work correctly.

For example, if my only stores are 'basic' and 'simple',
everything works correctly.  However, by adding
the store with the Oracle products table and
restarting MV, when the customer goes to
"Irises, VAN GOGH" in the Impressionists section of
the basic store, they see (simulated in ASCII)

The name of the piece is missing on line1.  The artists is
missing on the By line.  The gif is not found.  The
category is missing. Several MV markup tags are displayed.
No error messages are found in the error.logs.

But if I drop the 1 from the
     Database            products UPPERCASE    1
directive for the "Oracle" store - becoming
     Database            products UPPERCASE
the Irises page for Van Gogh correctly displays.  The
"Oracle" store also works.

Also, if my only stores are basic and simple, adding
     Database            products UPPERCASE    1
to simple's catalog.cfg, breaks basic exactly the same way.  Again,
dropping the 1 from simple, fixes basic's problems.

Explanations?  Comments?
