Re: [mv] Does MV 4 LIKE mySQL now?
****** message to minivend-users from "Christian J. =?iso-8859-1?Q?M=FCller?=" <cmueller@polinet.ch> ******
Hi Barney,
I had played with MV4alpha and beta a bit and found that LIKE does not
work in the search and scan environments. However, the [query] tag,
although not fully documented (yet?) works for random SQL statements.
Recently, Mike fixed a problem with the [more-list] in connection with
[query] so that now (MV4.01) you can use [query] for in-page searches
with the benefits of a search.
I had digged into the MV code to see where LIKE fails, and I had found
the places. I had posted proposals (around Feb 20th) to fix it, but not
being a perl programmer, I dont dare to call it a fix. There was never
any reaction to that, but it did work for me. I am now using [query] and
this works fine. I think that Mike is aware that some SQL stuff is not
yet working as it should and I guess we can expect some improvements in
the future.
