[mv] Using Signio's SSL server - difficult?

****** message to minivend-users from David Gindelberger <davidgindelberger@yahoo.com> ******

I'm starting to dig into how to modify my HTML to use
Signio. I have the Signio perl code from Mike
(THANKS!), but since I'm new to this I'm a bit
confused. Signio wants me to place a form in my page
that directs my customer to their site. This may be
OK, but I'm worried this may make it difficult to
track completed orders. That is, have orders entered
into the transaction database like I do now so
customers can track them. If I enter them before I
pass my customer to Signio and they bail out during
the session with signio, can I figure this out? I
know signio passes data back to my server if I ask it
to, can I manipulate this data? Are there tags that
allow me to invisably pass the data to Signio? Will
I then need SSL since my customers will be putting
their CC numbers into a form on my site? I was kinda
hoping to avoid paying extra for SSL (Looking at
Raven's ApacheSSL - $350 I think).

How is this normally handled?

TIA

Dave
