[mv] Consulting Rates?

****** message to minivend-users from Chris Rapier <rapier@psc.edu> ******

So I'm doing this minivend site for some clients. Its actually the first
minivend site that I've put up so I'm not really tracking my time very
closely (with the client's permission). I don't think my clients should
have to pay while I struggle up the learning curve. However, I don't
feel comfortable giving estimates to future clients based on my
experiences with my first install. So my question is how much time you
people put in, on average, to get a site up and running with minivend?

I know this answer depends a lot on the client requirements and the
complexity of the ordering process but I'm hoping people might be able
to answer in generalities.

e.g.: I'm putting up a collector's site for sports cards and beanie
babies (I feel dirty). Its pretty straightforward with some well defined
major categories, no options and a simple shipping table. Using their
designers graphics and layouts I'm billing them for around 17-20 hours
worth of work. Does this seem about right?

This is really just for my own edification.
