[mv] Internal Server Error

Hi MVers,
When visitors to my site create a new account and select an existing
username, they are greated by an "INTERNAL SERVER ERROR". The Apache
error_log shows "premature end of script error". It only happens when
there is a duplicate username, everything else works great.
The new_account.html is right out of the simple demo.
Should "[data session failure]" intercept this and report the duplicate
username entry??
Has anyone else seen this problem or have any ideas on what might be
going on?
