Mike,

i canīt understand your first sentence. It seems to me, you believe, i
have edited the file etc/varnames or iīve broken this file. But this
isnīt so. I installed your new fine MV 4.02 (and later MV 4.03) and use
bin/makecat to visit our catalog and to see, what is going wrong.
Reading the new demo shop helps me a lot and i changes all the codes of
our catalog step by step. Our shop is ca. 98% ready/finish and all
secure connections works very fine. Al last, i use the command
"bin/mininvend -b <ourcatalog>" and i get all static pages. But some
links in this static pages is broken and iīve tried to find out why and
to help you a little bit. 

I use this in our catalog.cfg too...

AlwaysSecure         ord/checkout multi/checkout new_account newaccount ord/infobasket ord/infobasket2

BTW: 
Iīm wondering about the sending date of your email. I read emails every
day and i get your email from Mar/31/2000 today (Apr/3/2000).
