[mv] Is there a [sum] command to add up all the fields in a certain Coloumn ?

I need to calculate the total sum of a certain field in a serach query (I.E.
Total Quantity etc...Total Weight etc...)
Is there a [sum] command or similar ??
or should i use a Perl Integer to add onitslef at any loop field of the
search ??

and also , how would be the best way to do it in perl?
