[mv] RE: [mv] MV still donīt find perl - Problem with Perl -e

Hey... I couldnīt install MV 4 yet... Iīm still having the problem that
MV doesnīt find perl...
In response:
Sorry I don't have a more direct answer to your problem, but I once had a
similar problem with an earlier version of MV. I installed MV 3.14 with an
older version of perl on Linux Redhat 6.1, which (obviously) could not find
perl. I had the same error messages you reported in earlier threads. I
finally requested my ISP install a new version of perl which I uploaded to
them (which they somewhat reluctantly did for me). MV still did not find
perl until they put the "perl" file directly in my cgi-bin (not sure if this
is recommended, though). I don't remember your previous thread(s), but did
you try using the direct path to perl such as:
usr/local/bin/perl Makefile.Pl
(even though this didn't work for me either) - until they gave me my 'own'
perl in the cgi-bin, then the path
my/path/to/cgi-bin/perl Makefile.Pl
worked as expected. I ended up installing MV 4.02 later on the same server,
and it installed without a problem, finding the perl interpreter
automatically. Good luck.
