MV3.4-4 should run on Perl5.004 (I think Mike prefered 5.005). Have you
looked at the recent message about settings for BSD?

That is/was the intended fix on all versions of MV. It prevents use
of signals. It is best used with a short setting for Housekeeping to
prevent spikes.

Those having hangs with any version of MV after 3.11 please try this
and see if the hangs stop.
