[mv] using both secure and insecure servers

I have a catalog on an insecure server and they want the ordering to
take place on a secure server. The secure server is on a different
machine. This is, from reading through the list archives, somewhat
problematic and generally involves various ungainly kludges (liek
cloning the directory structure and so forth). Whats more problematic is
that the ISP in question would rather not have minivend run on the
secure server as well. 

Anyone have any ideas aisde from finding a new isp?
