1) Create a catalog without MySQL support.
2) Create an empty database in MySQL manually
3) Edit catalog.cfg and set SOMESQL 1 and MYSQL 1
4) Define Variable  SQLDSN   dbi:mysql:database_name_you_created_in_step_2
4) Uncomment SQLUSER and SQLPASS and enter a valid MySQL account there
5) Restart MiniVend

Minivend should create the tables and populate them with data.

Quick question:

I have 4.0.3 working with Perl 5.6.0 on an Ultra 2 running Solaris 7. 
I have mySQL version 3.22.32 on the same machine. mySql has two 
accounts, root and mine.

When I tell makecat to set up a web site, everything goes peachy 'til 
it tries to create test_minivend, when it says
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)'

I gave it the superuser account password for mysql. I haven't been 
able to find (in the time permitted) where the code is that executes 
that command to mysqladmin and so haven't been able to see exactly 
what it is trying to do. Is there a quick fix for this, like going to 
minivend 4.0.4, or am I doing something wacky? I'm able to directly 
go into mysql and create databases and accounts, I've set the 
passwords and performed other operations.
