[mv] logging in problems

hi,
I am using minivend 4.02, perl 5.005.
whenever I try to log in, I get the internal server error.
the error log file shows the following:

Safe: Can't locate object method "TIEHASH" via package "DBI::st" at

Runtime error: Can't call method "query" on an undefined value at
/home/mvend/minivend-4.02/lib/Vend/Data.pm line 384.
The same "can't locate object method TIEHASH" error occurs when I try to
use minimate to make some changes to the database.
any ideas?
