Got a tough one for you:

Minivend 3.14-4
Apache 1.3.11
MySQL 3.23.10
RH Linux 6.1

I've built a site which requires my users to be logged in
the entire time they are on the site. They log in within the
first couple of pages and then stay logged in through the
duration of their visit.

The problem I have is that the sessions seem to randomly
expire on the users, and then they are forced to log in
again. What happens is that the session id changes, and then
of course, all of the variables that the user has compiled
in their session, are wiped clean. It seems to happen more
frequently with IE than Netscape. Also, when it happens, all
of the cookies that have been set from my site are deleted
from their cookies file.

I've tried to avoid this by playing with the cookies options
in the catalog.cfg. I've tried using session cookies, and
turning them off. I've also tried setting user cookies, and
turning them off. It doesn't seem to matter.
