[mv] Bug in [include file=""]?

I use [include file="whatever"] all over the place without any 
problem (MV 4.04).  However, whenever [item-code] is in the 
referenced "whatever" page, the result of the interpolation (of 
[item-code]) gets scrambled.  If I put the code directly in the 
source page, it works perfect, so I know the code itself is right.

Do I need to put [item-list] [/item-list] or something on the 
"whatever" page?  I know everything is supposed to be automatically 
interpolated and this kind of thing shouldn't have to be done, so I 
assume this is a bug.
