[mv] Minimate partial upload fails
****** message to minivend-users from Mark Stosberg <mark@summersault.com> ******
Hello!
I'm experiencing silent failure with MiniMates partial uploads "add
records" feature.
Here's my setup and what's happening.
I'm using Minivend 4.04 on FreeBSD 3.2 and Postgres 6.5.
I made a simple products.add file with the information I wanted to add:
[snip]
title description
mytest mydescription
mytest2 mydescription2
mytest3 mydescription3
[/snip]
With MiniMate I selected the file off my hard drive and selected "Add
Records".
It returned this result:
[snip]
Uploaded file products.add: Succeeded
products
Using fields from file: 'title description'
Adding record 'mytest'.
Adding record 'mytest2'.
Adding record 'mytest3'.
3 records updated.
[/snip]
However, when I do a "select id, title, description from products" from
the command line, these records have clearly not been added. It appears
the records with ids 1 and 2 might have been _updated_ instead.
What should be happening is that the "id" field should not be included
in the insert statement, and Postgres will create an appropriate default
value. I'm not sure if MiniMate is creating some unusual SQL, or if
Postgres is returning an error that is not being caught.
A SEPERATE BUG: I can export a products file fine with this system using
the default settings, but if I select "sort by" and choose a different
column, I get an internal serverl error. The error I get in the logs is:
208.247.88.176 pmV4TbeC:208.247.88.176 - [11/May/2000:12:14:26 -0500]

Thanks!
