Don't sweat it, but also don't lose your health of MV or computers, it ain't worth it.
I know the documentation makes a lot or assumptions on skill, terminology, and logic, but if you
use it along with the simple catalog samples and if necessary rely on the sources to see what is
actually happening, it can be done.

Look at my prior post. You must get PGP working properly, regardless of the shell context, that is
why I had to use a wrapper because I could not assure that MV would know where to find the pgp
security ring. Once pgp is working, getting MV to use it isn't that big of a deal you just need to
watch for the use of the secure=1 parameter on form posts.

I'm assuming that you are attempting to run a single version of MV with multiple catalogs, that is
what it was designed for. If you are talking about running multiple versions of MV on a single
hardware platform, I really question your reasoning and believe you are setting yourself up to
fail.
First, when you install MV it asks if you want to create and configure the simple catalog. If you
didn't do this, you should have. I've never used the makecat to add additional catalogs, I prefer
to plagiarize from other similar catalogs that I've built and then customize from there. I keep
all of my catalogs in a directory tree named /mv_catalogs so for example, the simple catalog was
told to install into /mv_catalogs/simple3 and I have one for /mv_catalogs/simple4 for when I need
to flip between versions of MV for testing and development. If also gives me the access to both
samples.
Next, when I need to create a new catalog, I simply tar ball the one I want and expand it into the
new directory like /mv_catalogs/new_catalog and then customer the catalog.cfg file.
Lastly, I update the minivend.cfg file to reflect a new catalog entire pointing to the new physical
location and then restart MV and I'm running...

It sounds like you're slipping back to some very unclear and confused questioning again. Using
member areas and discounting and displaying logos are three different and most like unrelated
issues. Logos first, you probably do not have the image file properly placed in your web server
space for that catalog, what those physical directories and the relative paths defined in your
catalog.cfg file.
The [if] statements, I can't help you without samples from your actual page and regarding
discounting, well why don't you get the catalogs installed and atleast displaying pages first.
There are a zillion methods and CommonAdjust is just one...

HI all,
I own each and ever member of the Mail List an apology. I am really
sorry for the words I have written..
Its just that within the last two months of me working on MV ,I have lost 20
pounds, alot of hair and some other stuff... I did read the Documentation
,but it was clear on most of the stuff and I am not really into programming
in perl or anything.. Just Html and Dhtml...
I sincely Apologise for my Behaviour and I hope that somebody will help me
with the problems I have been having with MV.....
