Re: [mv] Image if "really" exists
****** message to minivend-users from James Johnson <junglejj@swbell.net> ******
Hello Russ,
You can bypass the image field altogether if it is appropriate for
your installation. If all your item images are all in the same
location and are named via sku then you can use code like this in the
pages that display images:
[if file path/to/images/[item-code].JPG] <IMG
SRC="[item-code].JPG">[/if]
This way your customer can do whatever he wants to the image field in
the database and it wont matter.
Or you can do this (as you requested):
[if file path/to/item_images/[item-field image]
<IMG SRC="[item-field image]>[if]
I am pretty sure about the second thing... but I KNOW the first will
work. I have begun to strongly advise (read force) my clients to name
their images based on sku. It just makes sense all the way around.
But my latest installation has 0 database entries for image files, and
all the client (or me) has to do is know where to upload the image
files and -poof- they are in the cart.
Best regards,
James
