Yes, I read too quickly. Russ did say the images are on a remote machine.
So, in the spirit of "Kludge," if the images can't be on the machine w/MiniVend running,
then perhaps the thing to do is have a cron job that does an ftp in batch mode to the other machine,
pulls back a listing (an "nlist" instead of "ls") and then does a "touch" on each of the files
listed to create "ghost" files with no size.
