RE: [mv] HTML editors

****** message to minivend-users from "Luke Lozier" <lozier@best.com> ******

I am running mvend 4.02 on Linux RedHat 6.0 with MySQL. I have a userdb
that is working, but only the userid and pass are writing to it. No other
columns will update.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Luke

I use vim, myself.

I am thinking of a project to integrate Miniman with a specific
HTML editor. I would love for it to be multiplatform, but I doubt
that is in the cards.

Everything I hear about Dreamweaver is good, and they have an
absolutely outstanding extensions interface that looks like
it would allow things like:

<LI> Download of structure information produced
for the plugin. Includes database table columns,
first N lines of database, Variable definitions,
and possibly a few selected catalog.cfg parameters.
The idea is to keep it simple in the number of things
to start with, but have a framework for extensibility.
It is pretty easy to produce a JavaScript via Perl,
    suitable for downloading.

<LI> Build iterating lists based on searches. The above
would enable table information for placement of fields.
    (similar to dist/lib/MiniMate/pages/config/report.html).

<LI> Build iterating shopping carts with some neat
features like alternating table backgrounds, draggable
    checkout/continue shopping/recalc/remove/change quantity
    buttons, etc.

<LI> Build order buttons and links.

<LI> Templating preview and possibly upload for __VARIABLE__
    elements.

Not my cup of tea, of course, but many people are very effective
using a tool like Dreamweaver.
