[mv] MySQL database update problem

I use MySQL (3.22.32 ) with MV 4.04.  I update the MySQL db directly 
with wdbi (a web-based database editor).  If I update anything *but* 
the code (sku), it works immediately in the mv catalog.  If I change 
the sku or insert a new record, it screws up the results for that 
record.  If I modify the flat file in /products (products.txt), it 
works, but wdbi works on the MySQL db directly.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
