Re: [mv] MySQL database update problem
****** message to minivend-users from John Beima <jbeima@palb.com> ******
Actually this problem is kinda wierd...
We use phpMyAdmin to update the database, and just lik eyou said if you
edit an existing code everything goes live fine, but if you add new items
they don't appear.
The key to getting around this is one of two procedures.
First go into MiniMate and export the database/table back to the original
text file, stop MiniVend and remove the database/table.sql file, restart
MiniVend and when it re-imports the database/table it will work fine.
Two go to your searches and add teh parameter of "st=sql". This tells
MiniVend to look at the sql tables and not the text source files.
Even though MiniVend is sposely looking at the MySQl tables, if the
"code" is not in the source text file, it wont appear in your on-line
catalog.
This was was a pain in my behind for a long time.
