Re: [mv] Perl 6 and Interchange's Perl developers
****** message to minivend-users from Jason Korkin <jason@korksoft.com> ******
I havent had a chance to read completely into the article, however, I
think Wall is merely trying to limit how many lists are active -- why
would we need to have a bootstrap list after the new version was released?
It could be said thats its a waste of valueable resources... but thats
just my 2-cents...
I think that this new rewrite will be quite exciting. I'm not too sure if
many of you remember perl 4, but the difference between versions 4 and 5
were like night and day. Larry Wall and the Perl 5 Porters have enormous
thrust on how both you and I will develop applications and general
scripts... OO-Perl was a **very** nice thing to see come around and
hopefully they'll get a full working threaded perl out soon too! What I'd
like to see is that they keep many of the same symantics so that all of
the version 5.x scripts we have will work under the new version.
Well, that again is my 2 cents worth...
Jason Korkin.
