[mv] Minimate removing -'s?

I don't know if I am supposed to point the finger at minimate or the 
customer using it.

5 times now out of the past 8 months, I've had to go into their 
database and handcorrect large amounts of data.

They have descriptions and in those descriptions they say
This plant will grow and you can expect 2-3 flowers.

Well for some unknown reason entries like that end up becoming 23 
instead of 2-3 which is causing problems when customers are expecting 
23 and get 2 to 3..
The same seems to be true with measurements. This plant will groun 7"-10"
one time it ended up being 710 and at other times I believe it was 7"10"

Can anyone explain why the - is always being stripped out? it's to 
the point where it's taking me hours to repair, and I can't bill them 
for this cause I believe it's a error on our side.
