[mv] bad data 'inventory'

Hi there, brought up a new store under Minivend 3.14 3 days ago.  First 
and only store under that release.  The store works fine (sales are huge,
thank you) but the error log has a couple thousand messages as follows:

tag touch: unknown database 'inventory'
and/or
Bad data 'inventory' 'qty' '<item-code>'

--the item codes of course vary, but it looks like it happens on all
products all the time.

I didn't (and don't) want inventory processing of any kind.  Did I miss
turning something off in the configuration?  Doesn't seem to affect
performance, but it's got to be using resources somewhere.
