[mv] How do I add custom processing to the checkout page?

Hello,

 I have a couple bits of functionality I need to add my final checkout
page of MV4.04 and I'm not sure how to proceed. The first one should be
easy for a seasoned minivender. I want to have the option for a someone
to find sign up on a mailing list as well. I have working code for both
the form and a script to process it-- How do I tell minivend "Hey, also
run this other code when they hit submit". Although I'm an experience
Perl programmer and have been using minivend for a couple of years, how
the [process] tag work still confuses me. 

  A second and related question: If some enters a special test credit
number of the final page, I want to _not_ send the money through to the
processor, but otherwise do the normal things. This is for debugging. :)
Again, although I can easily write the perl, I'm not sure how modify
Minivend's form processing. 

 If there is some documentation on this that I've missed, I'd be happy
to with a simple pointer to that-- Any feedback is appreciated!
